The RW can perform a complete meter site analysis encompassing power quality, meter testing, and transformer testing without removing the meter. RW-30X & RW-31X Options

RW-30X

The RW-30X consists of an integrated true three-phase voltage and current source with a RADIAN RX-30 Three-Phase Reference Standard as its measurement engine. The RX-30 has a guaranteed accuracy of ±0.04% for all of its measurement functions. The RW-30X supports meter testing using controlled voltage and current sources as well as customer’s load.

RW-31X

The RW-31X consists of an integrated true three-phase voltage and current source with a RADIAN RX-31 Three-Phase Reference Standard as its measurement engine. The RX-31 has a guaranteed accuracy of ±0.02% for all of its measurement functions making it ideal for testing of highest accuracy class meters. Like RW-30X, the RW-31X supports meter testing using controlled voltage and current sources as well as customer’s load.

RW-30X/RW-31X NS

The RW-30X NS and RW-31X NS (No Source) allows you to test a meter using customer’s load and service voltage. Two accuracy options are available through selection of the desired RADIAN RX Reference Standards: ±0.04% (RW-30X NS) and ±0.02% (RW-31X NS).

Which Model Is Right for You?

All four models share the same site analysis tools, Winboard Embedded software, and WATT-Net compatibility. The difference is the accuracy of the built-in RADIAN RX reference standard and whether the unit includes its own voltage and current sources.

RW-30X and RW-31X FAQ

Can I test a meter without taking it out of service?

Yes. The RW-30X and RW-31X test the meter in place using the customer’s load, through direct current leads or clamp-on and flexible current probes. The RW-30X and RW-31X can also apply their own three-phase voltage and current for a controlled test that you can repeat in the field or back at the meter shop.

What is the difference between the RW-30X and the RW-31X?

The measurement engine. The RW-30X uses a RADIAN RX-30 three-phase reference standard with a guaranteed accuracy of ±0.04%. The RW-31X uses a RADIAN RX-31 with a guaranteed accuracy of ±0.02%, for testing the highest accuracy class meters. Both are also available as NS (No Source) models that test with customer load and service voltage only.

What does a meter site analysis include?

A wiring check that identifies the service type and shows voltages and currents on a vector diagram, plus harmonic analysis, waveform capture, trend recording, and CT testing. Together they confirm that the entire metering installation is correct, not just the meter. How is test data managed?

Winboard Embedded software on the RW’s touchscreen stores unlimited test profiles, sequences, site configurations, and results. How do I verify the accuracy of the RW-30X or RW-31X?

The built-in reference standard can be checked with a standards compare against an external RADIAN reference standard, or on a RADIAN RS-933 laboratory system. For traceable calibration of the complete unit, use RADIAN Calibration Services.
