The Software and Embedded Firmware Quality Assurance Team ensures that software and embedded firmware meets defined quality standards before they are released. This involves verifying and documenting that the product is reliable, functional, safe, and performs as intended under expected (and unexpected) conditions. The Team works to not only identify “bugs” but more importantly to create traceability of requirements to tested implementations, reduce risk, improve product reliability, and ensure the effectiveness.

The Software and Embedded Firmware (“SW/FW”) Quality Assurance (“QA”) Analyst’s primary role is to verify Radian’s SW/FW product performance, identify and ensure the resolution of quality issues in Radian’s SW/FW products, and create, maintain, and execute documented test cases and plans. The SW/FW QA Analyst will follow existing test procedures and write new procedures, as applicable, as well as work with SW/FW Developers, Engineering, Product Managers, Project Managers, Regional Solutions Managers, and the Customer Service & Support Team to confirm customer reported defects and concerns and to ensure requirements are complete, testable, and unambiguous. The SW/FW QA Analyst will perform and continuously improve manual testing, validating GUI and physical behaviour (i.e. buttons, sensors, etc.); as well as automated testing by building test scripts to validate functionality repeatedly and consistently. The ability to leverage modern QA tools such as AI models to modernize and accelerate Radian test planning and execution is critical.

Responsibilities:

– Execute all phases of the QA cycle (e.g. requirements analysis, test case identification and traceability to requirements, test plan authoring, execution, defect tracking, status, and reporting of results).

Minimum 3 years Software and Firmware Quality Assurance experience is highly desirable.

The Business Automation & Systems Support Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining internal tools, workflows, automations, and analytical solutions that reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency across the organization. This role works closely with teams in Customer Value Added Services, Solutions, Quality, Production, and Finance to understand their business processes and implement practical solutions using AI tools, scripting, and low-code/no-code platforms.

A key focus of this position is working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Power BI, and related data sources to support financial, production, and operational analytics. The specialist also supports integration needs with Salesforce, helping improve the flow of information between sales and support operations and other business systems.

Additional responsibilities include leveraging low-code/no-code platforms, AI-assisted development tools, and scripting to streamline business workflows. Secondary responsibilities include providing user support as part of the IT team. The position is based in Lafayette, Indiana and works with teams in Pearl (MS), Knoxville (TN), and remote locations.

The Radian Research Metrology Department is responsible for maintaining RADIAN’s primary measurement standards, ensuring RADIAN’s traceability to the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and other international metrology institutes. In addition, the Metrology Engineer will ensure that this and other metrology functions are in accordance with the international standard ISO/IEC 17025 “General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories”.

The Metrology Engineer will support all aspects of the Metrology function including development of processes and procedures for calibration and maintenance of instrumentation. He/she will be knowledgeable in analog and digital electronic design to assist in development of calibration equipment. He/she will work cooperatively as a team player on assigned tasks with guidance from QA, Marketing and Development Engineering. He/she will participate in developing calibration procedures for new product development.

As a member of the technical team, the Metrology Engineer will also be expected to participate on, and at times lead, special research and development projects. He/she may also be called upon to assist, and at times lead, the resolution of technically challenging product sustaining issues.

The Metrology Engineer will understand the Radian product portfolio, theory of operation, and application of the products by the customers.

Department Summary:

The Quality Assurance department maintains the Company’s ISO‑compliant Quality Management System and promotes continuous improvement throughout all operational areas. QA works with Engineering, Production, Customer Support, Purchasing, and Metrology to ensure quality is designed into products, validated, and continuously improved using data-driven methods. This department identifies nonconformities, analyzes trends, and drives corrective actions consistent with ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.

Position Summary:

The Quality Technician executes hands-on inspection, measurement, testing, and data activities that keep products conforming and processes in control, owns a defined set of quality metrics, and supports product evaluations, failure documentation, and root-cause and corrective-action investigations. Spanning incoming, in-process, and final inspection as well as supplier quality, the role is the Quality Team’s presence on the floor, during receiving, and in the labs.

Responsibilities:

Inspect incoming, in-process, and finished components, sub-assemblies, and products using visual and measurement techniques (calipers, micrometers, gauge pins, optical magnifiers, and other tools used to verify quality), including final inspection.

Conduct roving audits, monitoring process compliance and coaching operators to produce quality products.

Help define and maintain incoming inspection criteria and sampling plans.

Support PPAP/FAI review and approval for purchased parts.

Initiate, document, and control nonconformances (NCMRs), then segregate, tag, and quarantine nonconforming material.

Evaluate mechanical and electrical assemblies, perform hands-on testing and teardowns, and recreate basic failures under guidance.

Support root-cause analysis and corrective-action (CAR) activities, collecting measurements, photos, and evidence, updating documentation, and escalating complex issues.

Own, track, and report an assigned set of quality KPIs and the supporting data.

Drive floor-level process-quality and yield improvement.

Complete and maintain inspection records in paper and/or electronic form, as well as maintain controlled documentation.

Interpret drawings, specifications, and inspection/test instructions, and recommend redline updates.

Provide clear, timely product-quality feedback to Engineering, Production, and Customer Support.

Department Summary:

The Radian Research Engineering Department—with teams in Lafayette, Indiana; Pearl, Mississippi; and Knoxville, Tennessee—is responsible for the research, design, development, and support of innovative and legacy products, instruments, systems, software, and services that serve electric utilities, meter manufacturers, and laboratories worldwide.

Position Summary:

This vital role is responsible for participating in the creation, maintenance and controlled release process for documentation of the products we manufacture. This includes the documents necessary for production employees to successfully assemble our products per engineering requirements along with user manuals for our customers to aid in the use of the products produced by Radian Research. The product line is extensive and varied, which includes Energy Meter Testing Systems, Energy Reference Standards and a wide variety of testing solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing tasks in RADIAN’s new product development process from initial concepts through production release. They will also provide ideas for documentation enhancements and support to existing products. The person holding this position will be a key contributor to the success of multiple projects.

This is an on-site position at the Lafayette, Indiana facility.

Responsibilities:

Create, maintain, upgrade, and enhance production and customer documentation per Radian’s ISO 9001 procedures.

Work closely with the engineering and production teams to provide detailed step-by-step instructions for the assembly of Radian products.

Observe and document assembly processes on the production floor, working alongside assemblers to capture build sequence, tooling, and critical steps.

Manage and track released documentation through Radian’s engineering change order (ECO) process.

Participate in requirements development and review.

Help advance documentation tools, technology, and processes.

Department Summary:

The production department is responsible for transforming raw materials into finished goods. This department manages the entire production process, from planning and scheduling to execution and quality control. Key objectives include cost minimization, efficient resource utilization, meeting deadlines, and ensuring product quality.

Position Summary:

The Production Laboratory Technician performs testing, troubleshooting, calibration, verification, and validation of newly manufactured electronic products and subassemblies to ensure compliance with Radian Research’s quality and performance standards. This position utilizes specialized electronic test and calibration equipment to diagnose circuit and component issues, perform incoming PCB inspections, validate product functionality, and document test results accurately. The technician also maintains and improves laboratory test equipment, analyzes product failures and repair trends, and collaborates with Engineering and Production to support continuous improvement initiatives. Success in this role requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, effective problem-solving skills, and a commitment to producing accurate, reliable products that exceed customer expectations while supporting Radian’s core values of customer focus, continuous improvement, and teamwork.

Responsibilities:

Perform unit troubleshooting, circuit testing, troubleshooting, and calibrations for newly built units using general and specialized electronic test and calibration equipment.

Perform incoming testing on Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs)

Maintain, repair, develop and refine test equipment.

Perform product verification and validation testing.

Follow standard inspection, test, troubleshooting, calibration and measurement processes.

Complete and maintain associated records of inspections, tests, repairs, and calibrations in both paper and electronic form.

Monitor and analyze customer repairs to identify common failure mechanisms and communicate to management and the Engineering department.

Education:

Minimum Required: Technical Certificate or Associates Degree in Electrical / Electronics Technology or equivalent military ‘electronics technician’ training. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Experience:

1-2 years in manufacturing operations

1+ years in electro-mechanical troubleshooting

1+ years in electronic test equipment usage

Knowledge of:

Electricity/Electronics applications

PCB manufacturing and failure analysis down to component level

Awareness of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) damage prevention in electronics

Problem solving techniques and Root Cause Analysis

Troubleshooting of electro-mechanical devices

General metrology, measurement systems, and calibration systems

Uncertainty components, management, determination, and reporting

Software and software applications

Computer usage and common word processing and spreadsheet programs

Skilled at:

Soldering (surface mount and through hole)

Electro-mechanical assembly operations
