Senior Electrical Engineer Innovation and System Integration

Position Summary:

The Senior Electrical Engineer – Innovation and System Integration position is a hands-on development engineering position within the RADIAN Innovate business model and the Ideas to Innovation (I2I) development process requiring vast engineering knowledge and rapid prototyping ability. They work closely with Product Management, Field Sales and the Customer to define, develop and deliver a testing solution. They are a highly skilled systems integrator able to apply the necessary technology blocks to form a product solution to meet Customer needs in a timely manner. The technology blocks may be from a variety of existing products or they may be under development by other engineers of which the Senior Electrical Engineer – Innovation and System Integration integrates into a solution to fit the application. They develop and implement scalable technology architectures. They devise possible solutions to predicted problems, evaluating other options including risk identification, working as part of a team, which may be established purely for a particular project. They analyze customer needs and develop an overall concept and designs with an eye to performance, architecture, safety, security and scalability. From time to time, as needed, engineers and technicians from the R&D Team may be assigned to work with the Senior Electrical Engineer – Innovation and System Integration on a given project. And, from time to time the Senior Electrical Engineer – Innovation and System Integration may be assigned to work with the R&D Team on a given project.

The Software and Embedded Firmware Quality Assurance Team ensures that software and embedded firmware meets defined quality standards before they are released. This involves verifying and documenting that the product is reliable, functional, safe, and performs as intended under expected (and unexpected) conditions. The Team works to not only identify “bugs” but more importantly to create traceability of requirements to tested implementations, reduce risk, improve product reliability, and ensure the effectiveness.

The Software and Embedded Firmware (“SW/FW”) Quality Assurance (“QA”) Analyst’s primary role is to verify Radian’s SW/FW product performance, identify and ensure the resolution of quality issues in Radian’s SW/FW products, and create, maintain, and execute documented test cases and plans. The SW/FW QA Analyst will follow existing test procedures and write new procedures, as applicable, as well as work with SW/FW Developers, Engineering, Product Managers, Project Managers, Regional Solutions Managers, and the Customer Service & Support Team to confirm customer reported defects and concerns and to ensure requirements are complete, testable, and unambiguous. The SW/FW QA Analyst will perform and continuously improve manual testing, validating GUI and physical behaviour (i.e. buttons, sensors, etc.); as well as automated testing by building test scripts to validate functionality repeatedly and consistently. The ability to leverage modern QA tools such as AI models to modernize and accelerate Radian test planning and execution is critical.

The Radian Research Metrology Department is responsible for maintaining RADIAN’s primary measurement standards, ensuring RADIAN’s traceability to the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and other international metrology institutes. In addition, the Metrology Engineer will ensure that this and other metrology functions are in accordance with the international standard ISO/IEC 17025 “General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories”.

The Metrology Engineer will support all aspects of the Metrology function including development of processes and procedures for calibration and maintenance of instrumentation. He/she will be knowledgeable in analog and digital electronic design to assist in development of calibration equipment. He/she will work cooperatively as a team player on assigned tasks with guidance from QA, Marketing and Development Engineering. He/she will participate in developing calibration procedures for new product development.

As a member of the technical team, the Metrology Engineer will also be expected to participate on, and at times lead, special research and development projects. He/she may also be called upon to assist, and at times lead, the resolution of technically challenging product sustaining issues.

The Metrology Engineer will understand the Radian product portfolio, theory of operation, and application of the products by the customers.

This is an on-site position at the Lafayette, Indiana facility.

Department Summary:

The Quality Assurance department maintains the Company’s ISO‑compliant Quality Management System and promotes continuous improvement throughout all operational areas. QA works with Engineering, Production, Customer Support, Purchasing, and Metrology to ensure quality is designed into products, validated, and continuously improved using data-driven methods. This department identifies nonconformities, analyzes trends, and drives corrective actions consistent with ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.

 

Position Summary:

The Quality Technician executes hands-on inspection, measurement, testing, and data activities that keep products conforming and processes in control, owns a defined set of quality metrics, and supports product evaluations, failure documentation, and root-cause and corrective-action investigations. Spanning incoming, in-process, and final inspection as well as supplier quality, the role is the Quality Team’s presence on the floor, during receiving, and in the labs.

The Radian Research Metrology Department is responsible for maintaining RADIAN’s primary measurement standards, ensuring RADIAN’s traceability to the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and other international metrology institutes. In addition, the Metrology Engineer will ensure that this and other metrology functions are in accordance with the international standard ISO/IEC 17025 “General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories”.

The Metrology Engineer will support all aspects of the Metrology function including development of processes and procedures for calibration and maintenance of instrumentation. He/she will be knowledgeable in analog and digital electronic design to assist in development of calibration equipment. He/she will work cooperatively as a team player on assigned tasks with guidance from QA, Marketing and Development Engineering. He/she will participate in developing calibration procedures for new product development.

As a member of the technical team, the Metrology Engineer will also be expected to participate on, and at times lead, special research and development projects. He/she may also be called upon to assist, and at times lead, the resolution of technically challenging product sustaining issues.

The Metrology Engineer will understand the Radian product portfolio, theory of operation, and application of the products by the customers.
