WATT-NET MODULE

Asset Lifecycle Management Module

The Asset Lifecycle Management Module is designed to streamline asset management and provide complete lifecycle support for gas, water, and electric utilities.

It combines unlimited user-controlled configurability with out-of-the-box features so organizations can standardize processes across departments without losing the uniqueness of their workflows.

Product Highlights

Drive consistent device flow across shop and field operations using lifecycle business rules that control correct movement through processes and provide corrective guidance for common operator errorsโ€”helping reduce rework and exceptions.

Improve coordination and data quality with capabilities like multi-site workstation alerts for special conditions and removal reading verification (comparing CSS removal reads against shop test board kWh readings) to help prevent data entry errors.

Features

Complete, configurable lifecycle support designed for gas, water, and electric utility assets.
  • Business rules for end-to-end device lifecycle management with corrective guidance
  • Multi-site workstation alerts (visual and optional audible)
  • Removal reading verification (CSS comparison to shop test board readings)
  • Firmware and program ID version tracking (and additional configurable lifecycle tooling)

Lifecycle management platform.

How a Device Moves Through Its Lifecycle
  1. Receive. New gas, water or electric devices enter WATT-Net, and business rules set the next allowed step.
  2. Test and program. Shop test results are recorded against each device, along with its firmware and program ID versions.
  3. Install and remove. When a device comes back, its removal reading from the CSS is compared with the shop test board kWh reading to catch data entry errors.
  4. Flag exceptions. Workstation alerts (visual and optional audible) mark special conditions at every site, and the rules guide operators back when a step is out of order.

Who It's For

Who it’s for

  • Gas, water, and electric utilities managing assets from receiving to retirement
  • Utilities with several departments or sites that want one standard process
  • Teams that need their own workflows without custom software

Problems it solves

  • Devices out of sequence. Lifecycle business rules control movement, with corrective guidance for common errors.
  • Different processes at each site. Configurable rules standardize the process without erasing local needs.
  • Data entry errors at removal. Removal reading verification compares CSS removal reads with shop Test Board kWh readings.
  • Assets that never got recorded. Tracking starts at purchase, so every asset bought is confirmed delivered, and receipt dates are known for warranty and depreciation.
  • Site records out of date. Site management tracks the circuits, meters, CTs, and PTs at each site, with history snapshots, a signature approval process for site changes, and site-specific test data and files.

Built on the WATT-Net Platform

The Asset Lifecycle Management Module is one of the WATT-Net modules. Like the others, it builds on the Database and Administration Module, which moves your data to a central SQL or Oracle database and adds user security. The base WATT-Net Software comes with RADIAN test systems at no license fee.

Module What it adds
Database and Administration The central database and user security every module needs
Meter Shop Operations Day-to-day meter shop workflow
Sample and Periodic Testing Compliance sampling and periodic test programs
Inventory Management Stock and location tracking for devices
Equipment Support Repair, tampering, maintenance, and calibration tracking
Integrations Data exchange with CIS, billing, and ERP systems

Asset Lifecycle Management FAQ

Which utility assets does the module manage?

Gas, water and electric meters, plus CTs, PTs, routers, collectors and other utility assets. One set of configurable business rules covers each device from receiving to retirement, so every department follows the same process.
WATT-Net Asset Lifecycle Management
The Database and Administration Module. It provides the central SQL or Oracle database and user security that every WATT-Net module builds on.
WATT-Net Database and Administration
When a meter comes back from the field, WATT-Net compares the removal reading recorded in your CSS with the kWh reading from the shop test board. A mismatch flags a likely data entry error before it reaches billing records.
WATT-Net Asset Lifecycle Management
Yes. Business rules, data sets and workflows are user-configurable, so you can standardize across departments without giving up processes unique to your utility. RADIAN also offers requirements gathering, configuration, training and the Process Improvement Workshop to help set it up.
WATT-Net Asset Lifecycle Management
Yes, with WATT-Net Integrations. Real-time or scheduled transactions move data to enterprise systems through files or APIs, using the Listener Application Server.
