WATT-NET MODULE

Database and Administration Module

The Database and Administration Module adds central database management and enhanced security for operations of all sizes.

It supports centralized SQL or Oracle databases, security rights management (groups, user controls, authentication options), and unlocks the ability to expand WATT-Net with additional modules and integrations—this module is required to add any WATT-Net module or integration.

Product Highlights

Standardize and protect data across teams with centralized system management, a single data repository/backup, and configurable permissions that help prevent unauthorized access or accidental changes—ideal for adding “read-only” access for occasional users while protecting operational workflows.

Improve field-to-office efficiency with Store-and-Forward Synchronization that automates uploads of field test results to the central database and downloads current validation data back to equipment—reducing manual sync work and improving traceability.

Centralized Database + Security

Who It's For

Who it’s for

  • Utilities running WATT-Net on more than one workstation, in the shop, in the field, or both
  • Operations of any size that want one managed home for all test data
  • Teams that need to control who can change what, including read-only access for occasional users
  • Any utility planning to add a WATT-Net module or integration. This module is required first.

Problems it solves

  • Data spread across PCs. A single repository, with one place to back up.
  • Changing settings one PC at a time. Workstations share configuration, so one change applies enterprise-wide.
  • Manual field uploads. Store-and-forward synchronization moves field results to the central database and sends current validation data back to the equipment.
  • Open access to critical settings. Group and user permissions are set for each menu item and editor.
  • Outgrowing SQL Express. Expanded data storage beyond SQL Express limits.
  • Several operating companies, one system. One shared database serves every location, while each operating company can keep its own business process definitions and data.

Built on the WATT-Net Platform

The Database and Administration Module is the foundation of the WATT-Net platform. It moves the base WATT-Net Software from individual workstations to a central SQL or Oracle database and adds user security. Once it is in place, any WATT-Net module or integration can be added. The base WATT-Net Software comes with RADIAN test systems at no license fee.

Module What it adds

Sample and Periodic Testing Compliance sampling and periodic test programs
Inventory Management Stock and location tracking for devices
