Product Highlights
What Is a Multi-Position Test Board?
A multi-position Test Board holds several meters at once, from 4 up to 24 socket positions, each with its own socket, actuation button, and breaker. It is built for meter shops that test meters in volume, such as new shipments, returns, and meters for in-service programs. Adding positions adds capacity, and one station can run functional checks, demand, and accuracy testing without moving meters between boards.
Each socket is a modular 19-inch rack-mount unit, so a single socket can be removed while the others stay in service. Zero-insertion-force Smart Socket™ technology, with high-conduction gold connections and electronic socket control, gives an actuated connection that extends hardware life.
Open Socket Design
The WECO 8050, 8100, and 8200 use a RADIAN-exclusive open socket design. Dead-front operation means an open socket is never energized, and an empty position does not stop the populated sockets from running. There is no need for a bypass plate in an open socket.
The Advantages of a Synthesized Source
Set Exactly the Test You Need
The WECO 8050, 8100, and 8200 generate test voltage and current electronically, so every test condition is set by the test station:
- Any test voltage from 30 V to 600 V, at 0.1 V resolution. Test at the meter’s nameplate voltage and at the edges of its range, for every service type, on one station.
- Any phase angle from 0° to 359.9°, in 0.1° steps. Test any power factor, leading or lagging, and both delivered and received energy.
- The same conditions, test after test. Programmed voltage, current, and phase angle repeat exactly, so results are comparable from test to test and year to year.
Test Meters the Way the Grid Treats Them
A synthesized source can also shape the waveform on purpose:
- Programmable harmonics on the voltage, the current, or both
- Voltage sags, swells, and dropped cycles
- Voltage and phase imbalance
That lets you confirm how meters register and respond under distorted and disturbed conditions, not just a pure sine wave. Harmonics and reactive and apparent energy are also at the center of the proposed ANSI C12 changes. See our guide, ANSI C12 Changes Coming in 2027.

- Supported forms: 1S–6S, 8S–10S, 12S–17S, 25S, 26S, 29S, 32S, 35S, 36S, 45S, 46S, 56S, 66S, 76S, 103S, 109S, 112S, 116S, 135S, 136S, 145S, and 166S

Diverse Meter Testing Capabilities
One station covers the full range of meter shop testing: accuracy against a RADIAN reference standard, meter response to different loads, harmonics, and phase imbalance, and functional checks of communications, disconnect, alarms, and demand. A 7-inch color touchscreen handles local control, and an Ethernet port connects the station to a PC running WATT-Net Software.
Which Multi-Position Test Board Is Right for You?
All three models share the same foundation: synthesized voltage and current, watthour, VARhour, VAhour, and other measurement functions, a removable RADIAN reference standard at 0.02% or 0.04%, 4 to 24 socket positions, and WATT-Net Software.
Choose by the highest test current your meters need and the floor space you have. The WECO 8050 is the most compact, for shops with tight quarters. The WECO 8000 is also multi-position. It offers selectable standard test voltages from 69 V to 480 V and currents up to 50 A, and is the most cost-effective choice for watthour qualification, demand, and accuracy testing. For one meter at a time, see the WECO 4050X, 4150X, and 4330X single-position Test Boards, which can also be run in a multi-position format with WATT-Net.
