Product Highlights
The UTEC 31 is a split-phase AC current source built for meter shops that run custom phantom-load test installations. It supplies up to 30 A per leg with independent front-panel control of current, phase angle, and direction on each phase, and its per-phase direction settings map to common meter forms (1S, 2S, 3S, 4S, 12S, 25S). A single UTEC 31 can drive up to approximately 30 meters in series.
The UTEC 31 is a load simulator, not an absolute-measurement instrument — it is designed to supply phantom current through a custom installation while a separate reference standard handles the measurement. The unit ships with an unterminated power input cable to simplify integration with existing 120/208 VAC three-phase shop service.

Features
- Independent per-phase control — current magnitude, phase angle (Unity / Off / PF at 30° lagging), and direction (FWD / REV) on each phase, all from the front panel
- 30 A per leg, split-phase output — continuously adjustable from 0.3 A to 30 A via independent dials
- Meter-form direction mapping — supports 1S, 2S, 3S, 4S, 12S, and 25S forms via per-phase direction setting
- Series capacity — drives up to approximately 30 meters in series from a single unit in a custom installation
- Flexible power input — ships with an unterminated 5-wire cable for direct patch into existing 120/208 VAC three-phase service
- Compact shop footprint — 12" × 10" × 8", 49.7 lb; 0°C to 55°C operating range
