The MPG-3E allows utilities to adopt advanced AMI meters while continuing to deliver KYZ pulses to customers who depend on them — protecting past investments and simplifying the transition to modern metering infrastructure. Outputs are selectable as Form A (2-Wire) or Form C (3-Wire), operating in momentary or toggle mode with six configurable pulse width settings.
Visual system status is made easy with bright red, yellow, and green LEDs that monitor communications status at a glance, eliminating the need for additional test equipment. A 30mS fixed minimum-off time delay ensures pulses never occur too rapidly, and the output pulse value is programmable from 1 to 99,999 Wh/pulse.

The MPG-3E quickly and easily provides pulses to customer equipment.
- Zigbee® HAN Network Input — receives usage data wirelessly from AMI meter's HAN network without requiring a hardwired KYZ meter output.
- Two KYZ Pulse Outputs — dual Form A (2-Wire) or Form C (3-Wire) solid-state dry-contact outputs rated at 100mA at 120V.
- USB Programmability — all settings configured via USB port using free SSI Universal Programmer software.
- Selectable Output Modes — momentary mode with six pulse width options (25–1000mS) or toggle mode for classic KYZ emulation.
- Bi-Directional Energy Support — configurable for Normal mode (delivered only) or Signed mode (delivered and received).
- NEMA 4X Enclosure — fiberglass raintight and dustproof housing rated for harsh outdoor environments.
- LED Status Indicators — red, yellow, and green LEDs provide immediate visual system check without test equipment.
