The OPP-1i’s read-only, one-directional design ensures complete metering security — no commands or data are ever sent to the meter, and no modification to the meter’s configuration or operation is possible. SSI’s proprietary optical pulse isolation and conditioning technology converts the raw IR signal into clean, properly timed Form C KYZ pulses that interface directly with standard pulse-input power monitoring equipment.
The OPP-1i is also compatible with the PCR-3OPP — a companion relay variant purpose-built for use with optical pulse pickups — with dedicated installation documentation available for that configuration.
Features
The SSI OPP-1i converts infrared calibration pulses from ITRON Sentinel, Centron, and GE I-210 meters into KYZ pulses with no electrical meter connection required.
- No electrical connection required — optically reads the meter's infrared calibration LED with zero physical connection to meter circuitry.
- ITRON Sentinel and Centron compatible — picks up via front-face calibration LED (Sentinel) or top light pipe (Centron).
- GE I-210 and I-210+ compatible — supports both standard and plus variants of the GE I-210 meter series.
- Form C KYZ output — converts detected IR pulses into standard Form C metering pulses compatible with power monitoring equipment.
- PCR-3 powered — draws +13VDC directly from the connected PCR-3 or PCR-3OPP relay; no separate power supply needed.
- 25-foot included control cable — 3-conductor cable provides adequate reach for most meter-to-relay installations.
- Read-only security — one-directional device; no data can be written to or commands sent to the meter at any time.
