Customer Interface Relay

CIR-24NG

The SSI CIR-24NG is our next-generation Customer Interface Relay, offering the ultimate flexibility in input-to-output configuration for virtually any pulse relaying scenario. Its four isolated solid-state outputs are independently programmable to follow either of two Form A or C inputs, with each output individually configurable as Form A (KY) or Form C (KYZ). This enables configurations spanning simple pass-through isolation all the way to multi-channel pulse format conversion — all in one compact, weatherproof package.

Unlike the jumper-configured CIR-24PS, the CIR-24NG is programmed via the SSI Universal Programmer software over a USB connection, giving operators full control over input/output mapping, pulse format, and output timing. This software-based configuration also supports emulation of simpler relay models — including CIR-13, CIR-24, and PIR-1 configurations — from a single unit.

Product Highlights

The CIR-24NG operates in two modes: Normal mode, where outputs follow inputs in matching Form A or Form C format, and Conversion mode, where the relay automatically converts Form A to Form C or Form C to Form A while preserving pulse value. Form A output pulse widths are individually programmable, making the CIR-24NG compatible with instruments that have minimum pulse width requirements.

The dual-compartment design keeps the utility electronics locked and inaccessible to customers, while LED indicators for every input and output — positioned directly beside their terminal blocks — provide clear, immediate visual status for each signal independently. The 800V/150mA switching device and built-in transient suppression protect against lightning and voltage transients.

Features

The SSI CIR-24NG next-gen customer interface relay offers four independently mappable outputs from two inputs with Normal and Conversion modes, USB programmability.
  • Four independently mappable outputs — each output programmed to follow either of two inputs, configurable as Form A or Form C.
  • Normal and Conversion operating modes — Normal passes matching form types; Conversion switches between Form A and Form C while preserving pulse value.
  • USB programmability — all settings configured via SSI Universal Programmer software; supports emulation of CIR-13, CIR-24, and PIR-1 configurations.
  • Programmable Form A output pulse widths — individually set per output for compatibility with instruments requiring minimum pulse widths.
  • Dual-compartment NEMA 4X enclosure — locked utility compartment and accessible customer compartment in one weatherproof package.
  • 800V/150mA solid-state switching — provides strong protection from lightning and transient voltage events.
  • Per-signal LED indicators — individual red and green LEDs for every input and output, positioned at terminal blocks for clear field visibility.
