High-Speed Dividing Pulse Relay

DPR-4

The SSI DPR-4 High-Speed Dividing Pulse Relay is a microcontroller-based relay designed to reduce pulse rates from a 2-wire Form A input and deliver two isolated dry Form A outputs at the divided rate. The division ratio — settable from 1 to 10,000 — is configured using a BCD rotary selection switch combined with a multiplication jumper (×10, ×100, or ×1000), making field adjustments straightforward without programming software.

The DPR-4 supports both toggle and pulse output modes. In toggle mode, the output changes state each time the preset input count is reached, emulating a classic KYZ-style output. In pulse mode, a fixed 100mS output closure is generated at each preset count. Pulse counts are stored in non-volatile EEPROM memory, protecting accumulated counts through power interruptions, and the relay can queue up to 255 pending output pulses during high-rate bursts.

Product Highlights

The DPR-4’s BCD rotary switch and multiplication jumper combination makes ratio configuration intuitive and fast in the field — no USB cable or laptop required. The microcontroller validates every input pulse for correct timing before counting, providing strong noise rejection and reliable operation in challenging metering environments.

Both outputs are independently fused against overcurrent, voltage, or wiring errors, and built-in MOV transient protection eliminates the need for external suppressors. Bright red and green LEDs display input and output activity at all times, and the Euro-type terminal connectors provide clean, safe field wiring.

Features

The SSI DPR-4 high-speed dividing pulse relay offers BCD rotary switch ratio selection from 1 to 10,000, dual isolated Form A outputs, and non-volatile EEPROM pulse memory.
  • BCD rotary switch ratio selection — division ratio from 1 to 10,000 set via rotary switch and ×10/×100/×1000 multiplication jumper; no software required.
  • Toggle and pulse output modes — toggle mode changes output state at preset count; pulse mode generates a fixed 100mS closure per count.
  • Two isolated Form A outputs — dual dry KY contacts rated at 250VAC/VDC, 100mA, factory fused at 1/10A.
  • Non-volatile EEPROM memory — stores pulse count through power failures; queues up to 255 pending output pulses.
  • Input pulse validation — microcontroller validates timing on every input pulse, rejecting noise and false triggers.
  • +13VDC pulled-up sense voltage — compatible with mechanical contacts, open-collector NPN, or MOS-FET pulse initiators.
  • Red and green LED indicators — display input and output status at all times for rapid visual system verification.
