All system settings — including pulse value, meter multiplier, output mode, and pulse timing — are managed through a USB programming port. The MPG-3ES supports both unidirectional (Normal mode) and bi-directional (Signed mode) energy flow configurations, and status LEDs provide immediate visual confirmation of system communications.

The MPG-3ES quickly and easily provides pulses to customer equipment
- Zigbee® HAN Network Input — receives AMI meter usage data wirelessly via Zigbee radio module without a hardwired KYZ output.
- Single Form A Pulse Output — one 2-Wire solid-state dry-contact output rated at 100mA at 120V, 800mW maximum.
- Low-Voltage Power Input — accepts 10–60VDC or 12–48VAC, eliminating the need for a line voltage source.
- USB Programmability — pulse value, multiplier, output mode, and timing fully configurable via SSI Universal Programmer.
- Selectable Output Modes — Form A momentary mode with six pulse width settings (25–1000mS) or Form C toggle mode.
- Bi-Directional Energy Support — Normal mode for delivered energy or Signed mode for delivered and received quantities.
- LED Status Indicators — red, yellow, and green LEDs provide instant visual communications status check.
