The Company’s History and a New Beginning
Radian Research, Inc. is a recognized world leader in the research and development of Energy Reference Standards, Energy Meter Testing Systems, Current Transformer Testers and Automated Laboratory Energy Reference Systems. Radian’s energy reference standards are absolutely unequaled in accuracy, stability and reliability. Radian’s products are designed to meet the growing demanding requirements of electric power companies and national metrology institutes.
Radian was founded in 1982 by Glenn A. Mayfield, physicist and entrepreneur. The corporation is based in a 25,000 square feet facility in Lafayette, Indiana that houses all aspects of the business, including Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Production, Quality and Administration. Today Radian offers over 20 different products that are sold to customers in over 50 different countries. In 2005 Radian Research purchased Utility Test Equipment Company (UTEC) allowing it to further expand its testing and calibration product line.
Mr. Mayfield passed away in 2007 and desired that his stock be liquidated in a manner that was in the best interest of the employees. After in depth review and analysis of the alternatives by its Board of Directors, employee ownership was determined to be the best choice and effective December 19, 2008, Radian Research, Inc. became a 100% Employee Owned Company by implementing an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). It is believed that Radian’s new employee ownership structure meets the wishes of its founder and that the new structure will help foster the entrepreneurial spirit of its employees to further Radian’s worldwide presence and its continued success. In addition, this ownership decision will increase the prospect of keeping Radian Research based in Lafayette, Indiana for the foreseeable future and thereby keeping jobs in Indiana and the Lafayette community.
Radian Research, Inc. is the first Hoosier Company to participate in Indiana’s ESOP Initiative Linked-Deposit Program created by the State Treasurer.

Radian appoints new Accounting Associate
Rhonda Dileo has been promoted to Accounting Associate in the Radian Research Accounting Department. Dileo joined the company in 2008 and was previously involved in material control and warehouse management.
Radian appoints new Executive Assistant to the President
Radian Research is pleased to announce the promotion of Jen Eberle to the position of
Executive Assistant to the President. Jen started at Radian in 2006 and has played a key
supporting role in various areas of front office administration. She has
also served as our Wellness Coordinator and has been the voice for
instructional and promotional materials produced by our Marketing
communications team.
Radian appoints new Material Control Manager
Radian Research, Inc. is pleased to announce that Sharon Townsend has been promoted to Material Control Manager.
Sharon has previously held the position of Purchasing Agent. Ms Townsend, a 13 year employee, will utilize her extensive experience in
procurement and inventory control to manage inventories at optimal levels.
Radian appoints new Vice President - Sales and Marketing
Radian Research, Inc. is pleased to announce that Peter Dack has joined Radian in the position of Vice President - Sales and Marketing. Peter has previously held professional positions at Fluke as Marketing and Business Development Manager. Peter has actively been involved with strategic planning, sales channel development, market research and product development. Peter will play a key role in expanding Radian's world wide markets.
Radian appoints Vice President of Finance
Larry Anderson has been promoted to Vice President of Finance. Larry has a BS degree in Accounting and a MS degree in Business Administration. Larry's extensive experience in the areas of Finance, Accounting and Human Resources makes him a valuable member of the Radian Team.
Radian appoints new Regional Sales Manager for Latin America & Caribbean
Marcus Zickefoose has been promoted to the position of Regional Sales Manager for Latin America & Caribbean in the Sales & Marketing Department. Marcus has a BS degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Purdue University. Marcus has extensive knowledge of Radian's products and has played a lead role in Radian's customer support.
Radian hires new Regional Sales Manager
Radian Research, Inc. is pleased to announce that Ming Cheng has joined Radian's Sales and Marketing Department in the position of Regional Sales Manager. Ming has a BS degree from PurdueUniversity in Electrical Engineering and a MS degree in Electrical Engineering from SyracuseUniversity. In addition, Ming has previously held professional positions of Business Development Manager, Product Marketing Manager, and Asia Sales Development Manager. Ming will play a key role in expanding Radian’s Overseas Markets.
