Open Positions

Development Engineer

Position Summary:

This position involves all aspects of designing, simulating, and developing Analog electronic design circuits for measurement and testing equipment. The successful candidate will complete tasks in Radian’s new product development process from initial concepts through production release. They will also provide ideas for future product enhancements and support to existing products. As a development engineer, the person holding this position will be a key contributor to multiple projects and could have the opportunity to work directly with Radian’s key customers.  This position is physically located in our Pearl, Mississippi facility. 

Responsibilities:

- Design, analyze, develop, build and test circuits for various products, sub-systems
   and test stands.
- Participate on cross-functional and interdepartmental teams to develop new products.
- Derive detailed specification documents from higher level documents.
- Design, execute and produce documentation suitable for product validation and verification
   test procedures.
- Produce documentation and test procedures suitable for internal production and
   vendor outsourcing.
- Design, build, prototype, and analyze new and existing technology for functional and economic
   application in new and existing products.
- Support and design improvements for existing products, as needed.
- Other as required

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent degree.

Experience:

- Extensive experience in energy metering or precision analog instrumentation will
   be a strong plus.
- 5+ years’ experience in analog hardware design required
- Using laboratory test equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.)

Knowledge of: 

- Electrical and electronic theory as it pertains to power and energy measurement
- Analog circuit design, analysis and simulation, including, but not limited to operational 
   amplifiers, power amplifiers, A/D and D/A converters, all ideally with precision and stable
   performance requirements
- FPGA digital logic development in VHDL desired
- Digital logic and digital circuits
- Embedded systems design (e.g. ARM processors)
- Firmware design
- Instrumentation transformers
- Board Level Schematics and Layout
- Integrating systems
- Basic understanding of project management principles
- Stage/gate new product development processes
- Technical documentation creation and control

Skilled at:

- Excellent written and verbal skills as well as organizational and problem-solving skills
- Working with others in a highly collaborative team-based environment

Desirable Qualifications:

- FPGA digital logic development in VHDL
- Experience with 3 phase electrical power systems
- Experience with high accuracy instrumentation design
- Design experience with low noise voltage and current amps, switching and linear power
   supplies, and transformers.
- Grounding / Shielding / Isolation techniques
- Knowledge of Calibration and Traceability issues

Software Developer

Position Summary:

Work independently and as a team using the C# (or other, as applicable) programming language to develop and maintain new and existing software applications. Take direction and collaborate with peers, project team members, and Customers to develop the best software solutions.  This position is physically located in our Pearl, Mississippi facility. 

Responsibilities:

- Develop an understanding of Radian WECO product requirements, including the different
   types of users, how users interact with our products, and how our products integrate
- Agile software development practices (i.e.: Atlassian Tools, version control tools, etc.)
- Communicate and collaborate within a software team dynamic
- Properly document code and release notes in a team coding environment
- Record development time in the corporate time tracking tool for Customer billing purposes

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or similar.

Experience:

- Prefer minimum 2 years’ experience as software developer

Customer Service Technical Support Specialist

Position Summary:

Efficiently and effectively provide Customer-centric technical support to internal and external Customers, Sales Representatives, Regional Solutions Managers, Customer Support teammates and the Production and Service Labs via phone, email, WhatApp, virtual meetings (i.e. WebEx, Microsoft Teams, etc.), in person at trade shows, and at the Customers’ premises for training, new sales support, and maintenance needs. Provide Customer-perspective information to Engineering and the Production and Service Labs. Know the theory of operation and application of the company’s products and be capable of effectively presenting that information to Customers. Have a fundamental understanding of the application and theory of electricity metering.  This position is physically located in our Lafayette, Indiana facility. 

Responsibilities:

- Provide technical product support via multiple mediums including, written communications,
   in person, telephone, fax, WebEx, Chat, and email. This includes explaining product
   application and product operation as well as troubleshooting
- Perform technical product presentations and training events via webinars, at meter
   schools, seminars, and Customer sites
- Perform various technical writing tasks including operations manuals and new product
   specifications
- Perform on-site product installations and Customer product training
- Assist in maintenance and tracking of the Marketing Demonstration Product account
- Assist with Customer service activities including product proposals, quotations, order
   follow-up, etc
- Know the Marketing Department software applications including RMAs and Order
   Entry and be able to use them, as needed
- Effectively interface with Engineering, Production, Service and Production Labs,
   Accounting, Field Sales and Marketing personnel in order to service the Customer
- Others as required

Education:

Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering (EE) or electrical engineering technology (EET) or a similar level of electronics/electrical training.

Experience:

- Prefer 1-2 years’ customer service experience
- Prefer 1-2 + years electric utility related experience

Knowledge of:

Customer Service Software Support Specialist

Position Summary:

- Monitor and support software support email portals
- Triage and document software support requests from Customers, partners, and
   internal engineers
- Communicate with Customers, partners, engineers, and developers, in a professional,
   clear, concise, accurate and Customer-centric manner
- Troubleshoot software issues with Customers and Representatives over the phone
   and/or remotely (WebEx/GoToMeeting/Microsoft Teams, etc.) - Reply to Customer
   mission critical issues, including outside of business hours, as necessary
- Log and track software issues in the ticketing system(s), from initial discovery, to
   closure, working with developers and testers to assess severity and impact
- Track, escalate, and close software support tickets based on SLA
   (Service Level Agreement) – type, priority, etc
- Offer proactive communication to Customers
- Develop an understanding of RADIAN and WECO product requirements, including the
   different types of users, how users interact with our products, and how our
   products integrate
- Manage knowledge base of resolution paths (FAQ, Help, etc.) and known issues
- Help developers and testers troubleshoot (debug) software for issue and resolution
   confirmation
- Become an expert in all of RADIAN and WECO software solutions, including legacy products
- Deliver company products and licenses to Customers
- Travel to Customer sites for training and high profile issue resolution
- Provide software training to internal team members, as needed

Education:

Associates or bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, computer engineering, management information systems, or similar, or 2+ years of experience with software support.

Experience:

- Prefer 1-2 years Customer service experience
- Prefer 1-2 + years electric utility related experience

Knowledge of: 

- Microsoft Windows versions and services

Electrical Engineering Technologist

Position Summary:

The Electrical Engineering Technologist will work cooperatively with engineers on assigned tasks in new product development and engineering support of existing products. Must have the ability to work alone, be self-motivated, and be capable of handling multiple projects concurrently. This position is physically located in our Lafayette, Indiana facility. 

Responsibilities:

- Develop and run tests on new and existing products
- Prototype and test analog and digital circuits
- Work at Electronics Bench
- Prototype PC Board assembly and debug
- Perform electronic troubleshooting
- Perform failure analysis
- Work at a PC, including data entry, e-mail, and using proprietary software
- Generate, formally document, and communicate test data
- Maintain laboratory equipment and facilities
- Design and construct basic test fixtures 
- Must be able to communicate effectively with the design engineering team
- Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment

Education:

- Minimum of EET bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Experience:

- Demonstrated work experience using Electronic principles
- Proven computer skills
- Desired, five years of recent experience

Knowledge of: 

- Analog Circuitry including but not limited to operational amplifiers, filters,
   power supplies and oscillators.
- Digital Circuitry including but not limited to Boolean algebra, A/D
